Two-time ICC T20 Planet Cup-winning captain Darren Sammy raked a plethora of headlines due to his mysterious tweet after he had been rested’ from Peshawar Zalmi’s playing XI for Monday’s fixture from Karachi Kings. Sammy that will become the third global cricketer to be conferred with the honorary citizenship of a nation – in their own case Pakistan- has played an integral part in bringing the Pakistan Super League back from the government. The former West Indian captain was’rested’ in favor of the compatriot Carlos Brathwaite using Wahab Riaz, taking on the reins of this medial side.

The Zalmi skipper took to Twitter to produce a massive controversy after he wrote: “I’ve heard that you’re important until you have finished your function. #dealingwithhumans.” After Sammy’s mysterious tweet, Waheed Khan- senior Sports Insider- supported the tweet of the prior has been associated with him being’rested,’ adding the team-management is not pleased with the all-rounder and might well drop him in the next game. “Darren Sammy was advised to have a break for the game against Karachi Kings, and he tweeted that. Zalmi management isn’t happy and has advised him this behavior/reaction isn’t on. It is unlikely Sammy will perform alongside game as Zalmi attempts to settle a mix,” Waheed tweeted.

Former pacer Shoaib Akhtar, however, refuted Waheed’s concept and maintained that Sammy was dropped on account of the very same problems with Zalmi co-owner Javed Afridi that led to Shahid Afridi depart the Franchise.
