Umar Akmal Has Been Banned From PSL 2020
It was not old when junior Akmal expose himself as a foreign trainer. He supposed during a spot fitness test at National Academy in Lahore. The right-handed batsman reported I took off clothes in front of the trainer, imposing him to identify the fat.
Though this was a straight abuse of the players’ code of conduct, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on the special register of his franchise, Quetta Gladiators, clear this incident under the carpet, saying it a ‘misunderstanding.’
However, his suspect meetings with suspicious fixers were too much ignore this time around.
As per a TV report, the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of PCB has suspended the batsman for his suspect involvement in suspicious action ahead of the league.
Akmal remains under ACU’s strict surveillance since he reported about a fixing offer during the League in Canada last year. Sources closed the matter claiming that a former Pakistani cricketer, now settled in Canada. He had approached him with the offer, which he reported after more than two weeks of development.
After the inquiry, Akmal was cleared of the investigation with a piece of advice to bypass from certain people under PCB’s and ICC quarantine list.
Due to this, Umar Akmal will miss the PSL tournament. If not cleared, this could be the end of his cricketing career.
